While shopping today had a thought that came to mind
We work hard to satisfy our wants and needs. More of our wants. So why don't we work less complain less be happier by having less wants? But does that mean its less ambitious to have such thinking? Is it wrong to want to live simply. But once again of course it's human nature to compare. But how nice is it To live away from the eyes of people and judgment.. And stress. who is truly the one that is happy - the developing countries or the developed countries? Irony.
'Tis the gift to be loved and that love to return, 'Tis the gift to be taught and a richer gift to learn, And when we expect of others what we try to live each day, Then we'll all live together and we'll all learn to say, 'Tis the gift to have friends and a true friend to be, 'Tis the gift to think of others not to only think of "me", And when we hear what others really think and really feel, Then we'll all live together with a love that is real.

The final 1 - Singapore hidden singing talents!
Thank you mediacorp and northeast cdc for the tickets to the final 1 group 4 and results round yesterday. Had such great fun! And indeed it was such an eye opener!
Ever more precious was the quality of live singing by the participants of this top 40 round. Lovely! Singapore truly has talents hidden.
The sad thing with all competition is that it's after all still a popularity vote . And yesterday round kicked out a few favorites due to low voting. I liked Daniel's and Charmaine's voice! Even though you two didn't make it to the top 20. Keep the passion for singing and hope to still see and hear you all around.

Celebrated Mother's Day at The Cajun Kings
I guess the whole Singapore was out dining for mother's day - so was my family. My brother booked us at the restaurant "the cajun kings" at 15-1 jalan riang
Hurray: There is free valet parking.
With all the reviews- good and bad - I Was just wondering the speciality of the place.
Putting on our aprons, the food came and we 'charged' -
Appetizer -
1. Frog Legs
2. Garlic Fries
3. Calamari
4. Pork Belly
Sadly, as it's mostly fried - it was a little jirlat after a while.
But I loved the garlic fries. Was pouring the remaining garlic bits into my mouth.
So when the cajun and garlic sauce seafood bags came! Excitement!
Mussels!
Prawns!
Hotdogs!
Clams!
Not really a fan of seafood due to allergy if I ate too much of it, I really like the fact that hot dogs were in it mixed with the Cajun sauce.
My parents commented that the seafood was very fresh! And my brothers slurped the seafood with its saucing. Seeing them licking every single one of their fingers, indeed made the food feel so much more delicious!
And I must share something that I really really like - and it's the earl grey ice cream with macaroon cover that was totally my cup of tea! Delicious! Not very sweet and the earl grey leaves a very refreshing feeling in the mouth.

NeoLucida - Image into reality
Gosh! I need to share this wonderful 'invention' for drawing portraits.
Love!
Spotted it on Kickstarter - NeoLucida - A portable prism on a stick! For making realistic drawings!
The NeoLucida setup: clamp your NeoLucida to a table or drawing board. Place your subject in front, with your paper on the table below the prism. Simply look down into the prism to start drawing.
Place your eye close to the prism, looking straight down at the prism's exposed edge, to see a perfect blend of your hand and the scene in front of you.
The prototype in action. Here's an unaltered photograph taken through the NeoLucida's eyepiece. The world in front of you is superimposed onto your paper. Just trace what you see!
So pretty!
Who are these people who brought back this invention?
Pablo Garcia and Golan Levin are university art professors and new-media artists, with a strong shared interest in the history and poetics of imaging technologies.
All the best!
Can I have it for my birthday present pls? Its coming up! * Wink *

Standup.sg at honglim park: Community Gathering!
Labor day was truly meaningfully spent with the invitation from Standup.sg to witness community spirit and bonding without strings attached.
Holding at Hong Lim park where 'grievances of Singaporeans' normally are staged, they faced quite alot of negative comments online. But personally, I felt it is thus such a apt place to hold the event - reminding people that We are Singaporeans. Despite all the differences. It is us as an individual that can make Singapore a better place to live in.
Trust.
Respect.
Understanding.
Friendship.
Openness.
Love.
Communication.
Sharing.
and more...
Really heartfelt effort from the organizers who initiated this event.
From the set-up
People started coming with their mats and those without started sharing mats
At around 10am, the excitement started!
Theme: Time to come together as a community to make things come true
Here's how it goes
Here's how it goes
The community does tasks to unlock the stations so everyone can get to enjoy the station.
Interactions with people around
And one by one,
Ice cream store was the first to be unlocked!
Ukelele next!
Facepaint next!
Waiting for the popcorn and candy floss station to be unlocked!
And yay! Finally!
Unlocking the childhood items station!
And the final hurdle.
All stations are unlocked with the help of the community effort.
Amazing feeling!
Enjoying the fruits of labor!
Families bonding
Body and face Painting
Ballon sculpting
Met new friends here!
One of my new found friend made cupcakes to share around.
Such sweet messages!
And another!
Nachos with 4 sauces that represent each race!
Truly unique as each sauce had different spices.
Chicken rice seasoning, curry etc etc
So pretty!
Ending the event with the releasing of ballons of all our wishes for Singapore and our next few months resolutions to fulfill that wish
It can be as simple as "Make Singapore a happier place - by giving a sincere compliment to someone in the office everyday"
Hurray!
More such events please!
Such a happy day!
Indeed the world can become a better place if everyone played a part and does things for the benefit of the community instead of only thinking about themselves.
Its like a cycle that knows no end. Wealth. Career. But we have been so attune to the rat race that we now find it hard to truly enjoy but to slog each day wanting more.
A question I would like to leave with everyone
Are you living a life filled with more wants than needs?
